Why the practice began

Host Flowhub was formed after its founder, Nandi Jacobs, repeatedly saw otherwise careful applicants struggle to present ordinary financial events: a family transfer, irregular freelance income, a matured investment or a sponsor paying travel costs. The underlying funds were only part of the task. The documentary path also had to be readable.

The people doing the reading

Nandi leads each complex review. Her background in financial administration and compliance document checking trained her to reconcile names, dates, balances and supporting records without turning plain findings into legal conclusions. Sipho Maseko supports intake and document control, checking that files are legible, complete and handled according to the agreed retention period.

We work from Cape Town with applicants and sponsors in South Africa and abroad. Reviews are completed by people, not automated eligibility scoring. When a question falls outside documentary consistency, we say so and direct the client to the relevant official guidance or a suitably qualified immigration adviser.

Our working principles

Read the whole trail. A closing balance means little when the source and movement of funds cannot be followed.

Collect only what is needed. We ask for review copies after scope is agreed and advise clients not to send passwords, card details or original identity documents.

Separate clarity from approval. We can identify contradictions, gaps and weak explanations. Only the responsible authority decides whether an application and its evidence are acceptable.

Leave room for context. South African records may involve multiple currencies, family sponsorship, informal naming conventions or bank-generated abbreviations. We ask before assuming.
